My morning routine is super simple yet super important. I’m a strong believer that when you start each day with a positive attitude and a little bit of self-development it will go along way.
The start of your day truly sets the tone for the rest of the day.
I’ve been known to be cranky for the day if I start the day off on a negative foot. While every day isn’t going to be sunshine and rainbows, most of my days are all because I take a little bit of extra time in the morning to set a positive tone for the day.
So, you’re probably wondering what it is that I do exactly to put me in such a great mood for the day.
I always try to wake up about an hour or so before the kids do. I don’t know about your kids but my kids ARE NOT MORNING PEOPLE. Let me repeat, they ARE NOT MORNING PEOPLE. Sometimes they wake up downright grumpy so most of the time I have to prepare myself for that. Me-time is super important before tackling that bear! That’s for sure.
The next thing I do is make my go-go juice or coffee and then I grab my gratitude journal and sit down to enjoy it and reflect on the things that I am grateful for.
That’s right, I start the day feeling thankful! Seriously guys + girls, this helps!
After reflecting on the things I’m thankful for and getting in my momma go-go juice or coffee, I decide what I have time for. Some mornings I will straighten up/do laundry or put away dishes and other mornings I will just read whatever self-improvement book I’m reading at the time. I’m currently reading Big Magic and Untamed, I highly recommend both of them. I also try to get my workout in during this time if I don’t plan to go to the gym that day. This happens most mornings because I just love starting my day with it.
After that, I will shower & get myself ready before waking the kids. Immediately upon getting myself together, I will wake the kids up and we will start the day.
