If you would have asked me years or even months ago, I would have said that having a skincare routine was not important. I mean, I watch so many girls on Instagram share their skincare routine but it always looked time-consuming and as a mom of three, I just don’t have time for that.
But, I’ve managed to find a skincare routine that I can do in 5 minutes or less.
It wasn’t until a couple of months ago that I actively started to look into different skincare lines. It’s always important to find a skincare line that fits the type of skin that you have. I have combination skin. It usually starts out as dry in the morning and as the day progresses it gets oily.
I don’t have acne or crazy breakouts but I have discoloration in my face and have clogged pores (ew) but I also wear makeup most days.
After looking at a bunch of different skincare lines I decided to go with Arbonne. In hindsight going with this company should have been a no-brainer. They have about 6 different types of skincare regimens + a ton of amazing add-ons.
I ended up going with the BioHydria line which is super affordable and absolutely amazing!
In the morning I apply just the wash and the gel moisturizer and in the evening before bed I like to apply all of it. I start with the wash, then apply the serum, then the eye gel, and finish with the moisturizer.
The biggest misconception that I had about skincare was that if I used moisturizers it would make my skin even more oily then it already was. FALSE. I actually believe that my skin is LESS oily than before.
OK, so I mentioned add-ons. I can’t not share them:
- Micellar Water – traps dirt, makeup, and daily grime while coconut water conditions skin with hydration.
- Eye Gel Masks – They soothe and cool on contact, transforming tired, puffy-looking eyes into wide-awake, “I’m a morning person” eyes. Plus, our moisture-boosting superfood cocktail of antioxidants, omegas, and phytonutrients help soften the look of baby lines around the eyes. 60 gel masks
- Detox Face Mask – This creamy French pink clay formula cleanses to draw out impurities from the skin’s surface like a magnet, resulting in smaller-looking pores. Utilizing an oil-pulling technology with 5 self-neutralizing acids to help clarify and brighten the skin’s appearance, the mask transitions from wet to dry to visibly show where excess sebum is drawn out.
So now I’m curious, what is the biggest misconception that you’ve had about skincare? Do you have a skincare regimen? What products do you use?
